We left Cape Hatteras before 6am since we wanted to be in Ventnor City, NJ as early as possible. Our friends, Armand and Adrian live here during the summer and they winter in Key Largo. The drive went smoothly. We saw really cute towns and town centers (like in the movies.. LOL).
One interesting thing we did was cross the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia through a combination of bridges and tunnels. Super cool!!!! It is 23 miles long and 1 of 8 in the world. NEAT!!!!
AND the best part was taking the Cape May - Lewes Ferry with the RV. What an experience that was!!!! There was another RV on board from Florida. They were heading to Canada (Halifax... which is where David will be for Fleet Week... what a coincidence!!! So I told them to make sure and go see the Sailors out there) A special treat on board was some great music from these two young kids with guitars. They just sat at the front of the vessel and played, so we decided to go up there and listen for a while. That was nice. Then we met Ed.. interesting guy.... hand glider, surfer dude that drives an older VW van with the hand gliding kites on top.... He gave us some pointers on hand gliding (which of course, Publio wants to do now... hmmm!)
A short while later we arrived at Armand and Adrian's house in Ventnor City, which is just 5 minutes south of Atlantic City, two blocks from the beach and boardwalk. Interesting fact..... The names of the places on the Monopoly game board are all taken from this area... Cool!
Then back to their house for some relaxing time on the porch.....
Happy travels!!!!
