We knew we had a full day ahead of us because there were a lot of things I wanted to do today before leaving tomorrow morning, so we woke up, had breakfast (Publio worked out with the resistance bands.. I worked on my blog.... hehehe). We took Teddy with us and headed to the New York State Park to see the falls from OUR side. I knew the view wouldn't be the same as the other side, but I still wanted to see it. I had heard that the US side was more "nature-like"..... soooo of we went with Teddy...
We came back to the cg at noon so we could have lunch.... our next adventure was waiting for us. We had booked the whirlpool jet boat, along with Ken and Kathleen (our RV neighbors and soon to be really good friends). They had a CAR (nice, after riding the motorcycle all the time). We left at 12:30 and headed to Lewiston, just north of where we were. Kathleen was a bit nervous but she had the most amazing time.
The ride was a lot of fun. It was like whitewater rafting but inside a big jet boat. After drying up and changing it was time for some adult beverages... hehehehe.... we stayed at the bar right next to the jet boat place and had several beers..... LOL!!!!
Then we went back to the cg to walk Teddy and grab some snacks and went off on another adventure. On our drive to?????? we saw a family of SKUNKS!!!! I've NEVER seen a skunk in real life...
We continued on our path and ended up in Alcott, NY. What a great little town. We were fortunate enough to run into someone that recommended the local park.... it was right next to the water. We had some appetizers and adult beverages, while we tried to fix the world... hahahaha!!! We met Kevin, maintenance guy at the park. He was great. He told us a little history of the area including the fact that there used to be a hotel right where we were sitting and that the previous year they had cut down all the trees that blocked this beautiful view.
We then found that they were having an antique car show, with music, and lots of interesting people, so we walked over and saw some really cool cars.
After that was over, we walked over to the lighthouse and noticed that there were people there watching the sunset. I felt like I was back home. The sunset was awesome!
OK… now what???? We kept walking and found this keyz looking restaurant/bar right next to a marine and we decided we wanted to hang out here for a while, so we ordered some beers and some food and met the locals…. Chip (the ex-outlaw) was an interesting character. He reminds me of some of our KL characters. His girlfriend was having a lot of fun and was responsible for taking a picture of us four (nice pic, I must say!)
Finally at 11pm we decided to head back to cg. Both of us were leaving in the morning to our next adventure. I could tell Publio was getting anxious about getting the rig ready for the next road trip. We got back and went to bed IMMEDIATELY….
Happy travels!
