Tuesday, June 8: Myrtle Beach is an interesting area..... VERY touristy.... kind of reminds me of a smaller
Daytona Beach with lots of tourist traps (theme parks, dinner shows, water parks, thousands of mini-golf)... not exactly the kind of places I'm looking to visit but a lot of families looked like they were having fun. I know when my kids were little these were the kind of places we would have definitely visited with them.
We woke up early and rode our bike (with Teddy in my basket) to the beach where we worked out. It was a beautiful morning.
Publio had me doing squats, lunges, push-up, biceps, abs.... I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow...
LOL!!!
We made breakfast back at the campsite and while
Publio went out in search of sugar for his Cuban coffee, I update my blog and uploaded pictures. Then it was nap time for
Publio and Teddy. They looked so cute in bed together. After the king and prince woke up from their nap, we headed out on the motorcycle to check out the strip. This was Teddy's first ride on the motorcycle. He LOVED it!!!! The strip was packed with lots of tourists, cars, and stores. We think it may have been high school graduation because there were a lot of young people. They were having a blast, doing what teenagers do...
LOL!!! Cars with lots of kids and loud music. It reminded me of Coconut Grove when I was in high school... driving around and around, checking out the other people. Amanda would have enjoyed it... lots of cute boys!!!!
Back to the campsite where we left Teddy and then off on a
bicycle ride to look for a sports bar to watch the basketball game later. Murphy's Law was right around the corner and seemed like the perfect place, so we ended up there later at night.
We got back to the
MH in time to watch a special called Pirate Hunters. It's a documentary made on our son's Navy ship, the USS Gettysburg. It was filmed while David was on board. They are out in the Gulf of Aden in search of pirates. While David was on board they discovered the pirate mother ship and arrested 17 pirates, which were taken to Kenya to be prosecuted. It was super interesting and makes us appreciate what these men and women are doing out there protecting us and others. They are very brave and I am proud to be a Navy Mom!!! Go David!!!!
And then it was bed time!!!
Happy travels!!!
