Memorial Day Weekend

It's been just about a week since I wrote and nothing new has happened in the RV department. I still search on the internet trying to learn as much as possible about the Heartland Cyclone. So far I think we will definitely look into getting a washer/dryer, a sink in the garage area, added security, satellite TV, internet (still searching, plus by the time we take off, there will be more available in the market), and a work station that converts into a dining area (something custom, in place of the existing dinette). We have also thought about upgrading our Ford F-250 to an F-350 or F-450. We'll look at them as we get closer, but I think we will have to trade up because of the weight.

We did have a nice, though windy, Memorial Day weekend. We had Fern and Ivy, and Albert and Isa over. No boat for us since it is broken and we won't have it back until mid June. That's was ok. Instead we went hiking over to Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park. It's really an interesting place to visit. There are hiking trails and an area closed to the public (but we went anyways). There is a lake back there with the shells of townhomes that were never completed. It looks a bit spooky. According to hubby, it was going to be part of a huge development in the 70s, but was stopped because of the effects it would have on the onshore communities. Also, the coral reefs have been declining in the more developed areas of Key Largo, but the ones offshore from the undeveloped areas of North Key Largo are in much better shape, so now it's a great place to visit, do some hiking and you can take your dog. Just make sure to pick after it.

We went back to Miami on Sunday evening after having a wonderful dinner with Connie and Gary. We wanted to make sure we beat the Sunday holiday traffic and we DID!

Until next time.....

PEACE!
